One of the first things people always ask me when the find out I own the Lice Ladies Dallas Franchise is… How did you ever find this business…?
Here is my story…
About 8 years ago, I discovered my daughter had lice. Like almost every parent that discovers lice for the first time, I was first in denial, then I started freaking out. I didn’t know what to do or where to start. I knew from when I was a kid with lice, it was not something that I wanted in my house. I also KNEW that it was extremely hard to get rid of! Someone told me about Lice Ladies Atlanta, so I called and made an appointment to get my daughter treated. My expectations were not that high (really, how could someone else do it if I couldn’t, and who would ever think to start a head lice removal clinic…). When I walked in for the very first time (with 2 other families that were friends mind you), I was pleasantly surprised. The clinic was very cute and homey, and we all felt comfortable right away. My daughter was treated, and the rest of the family was checked. I was given an abundance of information regarding the facts of lice. This was extremely helpful as there is so much misinformation out there, it is hard to distinguish what the actual truth is. Not only did they treat our family, but we were also given specific instructions as to what needed to be done in the home. It was not too complicated (as I had thought I would have to get rid of my mattresses, needed new couches, and had to throw away almost everything we owned). Yes, it was a hassle, and took some time, but was relatively easy to deal with, as I found out my home could not be infested with lice! Before I left the clinic, I bought Lice Ladies Prevent, Lice Ladies Evict Treatment, and a lice comb. I hoped I would never need or have to use the treatment, but I would rather be safe than sorry. I knew if anyone in my home got lice again (and chances are they would since it is second to the common cold), I was definitely going back to lice ladies, but if I couldn’t get an appointment right away, at least I could do my best and use the Lice Ladies Evict treatment until I could get an appointment.
Well, let me tell you, 4 years later, and my daughter comes home, 2 weeks before school begins, and yes, you guessed it, she had lice again! I felt like I was at square one…. But at least this time I knew exactly what I had to do…. Call Lice Ladies! Only one problem, I had moved to Dallas, Texas. In my mind, I thought well they have to have a Lice Ladies here! I searched the internet…. And sadly, there was not a Lice Ladies in Dallas or the surrounding areas. Sure, I found some other lice clinics, but I just didn’t get the same feeling from them. I was really upset. Good thing I bought Lice Ladies Evict treatment I thought to myself. Only one problem, how do I properly use the treatment to make sure I get my daughter lice free, and it’s been 4 years, I don’t remember everything I have to do in my home! So, I called Lice Ladies Atlanta! Well, they didn’t answer the phone when I called, and not wanting to be nuisance, since I couldn’t actually schedule an appointment, I didn’t leave a message. I guess I was going to have to figure this out for myself. 90 seconds later, my phone rings…
Me: “Hello”
Lice Ladies: “This is Lice Ladies, we missed a call from this number”
Me: “I’m so sorry, I don’t want to burden you. I am a former client, and my daughter has lice, only problem is I no longer live in the Atlanta area so I can’t bring her in.”
Lice Ladies: “It’s really no bother, what can we help you with?”
And so during the conversation, they told me exactly how to comb out my daughter’s hair to make sure she was lice free. And they even went over the instructions on what I had to do in my home. I was still overwhelmed to say the least, but I knew where to find the home information on the liceladies.com website. While I was looking over the in home instructions, I noticed a tab for Franchise information. My interest was definitely piqued! I really thought the DFW area needed a Lice Ladies, and I started to think…. Hey I can do this! So a little while later I called back and started to ask some questions about the franchise process. I started to research the company more in depth, and they in turn researched me and the DFW area. The more I saw, the more I liked. Lice Ladies was what I had been searching for and didn’t even know it!
Six months later, on March 12, 2016, Lice Ladies Dallas opened! It is such a blessing to work in a field where I get to help so many people. I am so thankful to Jennie Lasater for starting such an amazing company and allowing me to become the first franchisee!
